Playing around with instanced clouds and the light rig. This is actually only rendering two clouds, instanced hundreds of times, and it's making quite a big saving in rendering time. Now the biggest cost is how many lights we use. I'll probably use the tower Gill made though as is, since it's rigged and it could be useful. This isn't a final layout, the clouds near the centre of the set are too small at the moment. As for the lights I've used what Bobby started to setup. I added two bounce lights to cover the rear and doubled most of their output intensities as the scene was way too dark with the textures on. I've still got lots to tweak in order to optimize the scene... and some of the colours from these lights may be bit intense. So more to come....
